OpenClaw is an emerging technological trend at the intersection of AI, cloud computing, and Identity and Access Management (IAM), yet it inherently carries potential security threats. IAM refers to a security framework that manages who can access which systems and data within an enterprise, traditionally designed for human users. However, with the advent of new entities like AI agents, the role and complexity of IAM are rapidly increasing. The problem is that while the efficiency and convenience offered by this innovative technology are visible, the hidden risks do not immediately surface. He pointed out that while OpenClaw offers opportunities to enhance the efficiency of AI agents and utilize cloud resources more flexibly, it can simultaneously introduce new security vulnerabilities and management complexities. One of OpenClaw's significant advantages lies in maximizing the efficiency of AI agents in a cloud computing environment. It helps process data in real-time using machine learning algorithms and optimizes internal IT infrastructure. However, this flexibility can sometimes turn a tool into a risk. For instance, if an AI agent is granted extensive access privileges, the risk of data breaches or misuse of authority increases. Especially in countries like South Korea, with strict personal information protection laws and data privacy regulations, such issues can lead not only to financial losses for companies but also to severe reputational damage. According to Linthicum's analysis, OpenClaw can bring about fundamental changes in how AI agents process data and access systems in a cloud computing environment.
